JUBA – South Sudan’s army chief, General Johnson Juma Akot, has assured the people of Warrap state that the army will not allow civilians in Tonj to kill themselves promising that they will be disarmed soon.
General Akot made the remarks on Saturday after he arrived in Luonyaker of Warrap state where he accessed security situation in the area that has seen attacks from armed youth from Unity state’s Mayom county.
“We are here to access the security situation because after we depart this area, we will head to Tonj and we will ask the civilians there to hand over their guns peacefully. We will not allow the children of this country, especially of Tonj, to kill themselves,” General Akot said.
“After this, a general disarmament campaign will be carried out across the country and this will potentially reduce inter communal fightings among the population of this country,” he added.
General Akot’s visit comes less than a year after a disarmament campaign in 2020 ended with the killing of over 200 people in Tonj – mostly members of the organized forces – after a government disarmament campaign sparked violence between the army and armed civilians there.
The government then suspended the campaign and vowed – according to the army spokesman Major-General Lul Ruai Koang – to continue the process once the rainy season ended.
Speaking during the welcoming ceremony of the army chief, paramount chief Thiik Mawut Riiny praised the unprecedented visit by the army chief and raised some security concerns including attacks by armed youth coming from Unity state’s Mayom county.
“We are glad to welcome the Chief of Defense Forces, it’s the first time for a army chief to visit the land of Apuk (Luonyaker). We beg you to consider the security of this community better because all civilians are disarmed and we are always attacked by our armed brothers of Mayom County of Unity State at the grazing land and we have no gun to fight back or defend ourselves. We beg the government to disarm them as well because we all want to be peaceful,” he said.

Right after South Sudan independence in ‘2011’, Mr. Salva Kiir almost all his then ministers to *Washington* to go and solicit *investors to come and invest in South Sudan, then the war was considered over* The evil juus (so-called israelis) went and told our lowly informed, Mr. Salva Kiir and his then ministers that there were “no infrastructures in South Sudan for the US to come and invest in them”.
That is true then in 2011 and up today. And when Mr. Salva Kiir and his allies came and asked ‘the Chinese people’ to come and invest in South Sudan.
And when evils who have attached themselves to country and over our people like ‘leeches or ticks’ watch/hear this. They went berserk and wanted *a regime change*, South Sudan, South Sudanese people, Mr. Salva Kiir and some of his then ministers ‘immediately became red China slaves and that South Sudan has effectively became a Chinese client state’
And that their *usual puppets/stooges, secret societies and South Sudanese traitors* fake PhD doctors of Mr. Riek Machar, Lam Akol and other bunch of fools who have sold themselves to the devil/Satan.
