JUBA –  ANO is an Agricultural Non-profit National Organization registered with National Government Reg NO: 2355. Founded to promote Community transformation through increase Agricultural production and support sustainable economic growth. We are rooted working directly with people living in Poverty, mobilizing, strengthening and networking with other solidarity platforms and campaigning with them to challenge the structural causes of poverty.

Global food security is on top of the development agenda. The challenge of doubling the food supply to feed more than 9.6 billion people in 2050 is a daunting task in an era of increasing food demand and limitations in supply. Moreover, it is inconceivable to provide food security without involving small-scale farmers, who in many African countries account for approx. 80% of the farmland and provide up to 80% of the food products in these Countries.

South Sudan suffered immense due to war, floods, desert locust, COVID 19 and now economic crisis. Over one million South Sudanese are poor, with a substantial majority of them living in rural areas under huge agricultural potential. We are the only Country on earth that consumes what it doesn’t produce. The minds of our youth are being poison by the ready food on the table and yet we are at the top potential growers’ despite Fund limitation to support our enterprises and interests in order to ensure sustainable and economically viable projects.

Truly “people with ideas have no resources and people with resources have no ideas” ANO is a change maker and its fundamental role is to create real value, to give priority to projects that enhance value chain development, i.e. will have a direct or indirect impact on other players in the value chain. To contribute to sustainable economic growth in developing South Sudan by enhancing profitable and sustainable investments within agricultural production, food processing and related industries, the humanitarian assistance needs for South Sudan are immense, and the international Community has taken stock of the situation and the greatest asset of the agricultural industry is its passionate and dedicated farmers.

Therefore, what undermines our full potential is the disjointed nature of the industry, mixed messaging and lack of access to new technology and funding. The Government need to enable environment for agriculture development, ANO secured 4 square kilometers land for crop production within the green belt zone as an effort towards supporting the economy, nurturing Youth for Agribusiness innovations and employability.
