KHARTOUM, JULY 14, 2023 (SUDANS POST) – The Sudanese army on Friday launched a deadly offensive against the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Khartoum Bahri.

Security sources with direct knowledge of the offensive told Sudans Post that the attack was launched at dawn.

The army has not released any official casualty figures, but security sources say that the attack was ongoing and RSF is suffering heavy losses.

“The army has dealt a major blow to the RSF,” said a security source. “They have lost a lot of fighters and they are now in disarray.”

The attack is the latest escalation in the conflict between the army and the RSF.

The two sides have been fighting for control of the capital Khartoum since mid-April, when the RSF launched attack on government and army positions in the capital.

The conflict has caused widespread violence and instability in Sudan. Thousands of people have been killed and millions have been displaced, according to the United Nations.

The international community has called for end to the violence and for a political solution to the crisis, but the warring sides have so far been unable to commit to a political solution.
