According to the official, there has not been any given reason as to why the SPLM-IO chapter and mission are t be closed and said they have been given one week to comply with the orders.

“According to the information reaching me, they were asked to give reasons as to why they are closing down the offices, but I think someone is lobbying for the displacement of the SPLM-IO in Sudan,” he added.
Contacts to SPLM-IO head of mission in Khartoum were unsuccessful and a spokesman at First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar Ateny’s office referred Sudans Post to the SPLM-IO mission in Khartoum.
