JUBA – A senior government official in South Sudan’s Western Equatoria State has passed on in the capital Juba, according to a government statement extended to Sudans Post on Saturday afternoon.
Paul Tambua Erua, the gubernatorial economic advisor for Western Equatoria State died in Juba on Wednesday when he succumbed to an unknown illness.
“It is with complete shock and disbelief that we received the news of the demise of the Hon. Advisor for Economic affairs which occurred on Wednesday 26th Oct 2022 in the South Sudan Capital city Juba,” acting Western Equatoria State information minister Bazia Tito Morris said in a statement.
“On behalf of the entire government of Western Equatoria State and my on behalf, allow me to offer profound condolences to the family, relatives, in-laws and friends and colleagues in the entire Government and Citizens of Western Equatoria State and People of South Sudan for the passing on of Hon, advisor Paul Tambua Erua,” the statement added.
It said that the deceased government official “played a big role in the existence, integration process of the State in regards to the regional governance. He was instrumental and contributed immensely in the formation and structural of government of Western Equatoria State.”
“The late Hon. Tambua Was man of great intellect, vision and courage who contributed immensely in the economic sector of the state. Today, we mourn the passing on of great son of the Western Equatoria State who has left behind a legacy of humility, simplicity and dedication in our state.
“The entire Western Equatoria State government and I share with the bereaved family. His colleagues in the State the feeling of great loss at this moment of deep sorrow. ‘Death is the last chapter in life but first chapter in eternity.’”
