Daniel Lenvee, head of civil society in Nagero County, reported the killings in a letter to the Ceasefire and Transitional Security Arrangements Monitoring Mechanism (CTSAMVM). He described a series of violent acts allegedly committed by the SSPDF in the area.
Lenvee detailed the arrival of SSPDF forces in Nagero town and the subsequent escalation of violence.
“The Regional forces together with the forces under the command of Brig. James Naando who were deployed at Boo Bridge arrived Nagero town yesterday,” Lenvee wrote in the letter extended to Sudans Post.
He went on to describe the alleged abuses committed by the soldiers, including arson, looting, and harassment of civilians.
“They started to burn houses, looted people’s property, harassing civilians including Nagero County executive director and among others,” he continued.
Lenvee then explained the abduction and killing of the two students.
“And then now they are committing the same atrocities which are mentioned above. They too, this morning abducted two young boys (students from Nagero Secondary school) by the named, Stephen Raimondo Ziki and Jackson Kumbo,” he wrote.
Concluding his letter, Lenvee appealed for intervention, emphasizing the worsening security situation in Nagero County.
“They too, this morning abducted two young boys (students from Nagero Secondary school) by the named, Stephen Raimondo Ziki and Jackson Kumbo,” he wrote. “Daniel called for intervention as the security situation is getting worsen in the area.”
