The security source told Sudans Post this morning that the plane, according to information he heard, left Lutsk Military Airport in Ukraine on August 13, and arrived on August 14 in Ugandan where authorizes stopped it, before its expulsion upon a request by a “powerful country”.
“The plane left sometimes around August 13 from an airport known as Lutsk Military in Ukraine and it was heading to South Sudan. It arrived at Entebbe at dawn on August 14,” the security source who said he is aware of the plane said.
The source said there was an arrangement between the Ukrainian government and its Ugandan counterparts to ship the weapons to South Sudan via the Ugandan-South Sudan border, but said one of the countries had pressured Uganda to returning the plane to where it originated.
“There seemed to be an arrangement that the delivery of the weapons are made through Uganda, but then there appeared to be a pressure somewhere or from any powerful country against the Ugandan government to stop the arrangement,” the security source said.
There were no immediate responds by calls by Sudans Post to South Sudan government and army officials.
