Unity state criminals kill woman, wound man in Ruweng

Director of information of the Ruweng Administrative Area Miakol Makuac said that the attack took place on Saturday night at Magon Cattle camp, about 10 kilometers from Pariang town.

JUBA – Authorities in South Sudan’s Ruweng Administrative Area are reporting that at least one woman has been killed and a man has been injured following attack by suspected criminals from neighboring Unity state.

Director of information of the Ruweng Administrative Area Miakol Makuac said, according to Radio Miraya, that the attack took place on Saturday night at Magon Cattle camp, about 10 kilometers from Pariang town.

The senior official who is also the Greater Ruweng Administrative Area’s government spokesperson said “the youth in the area pursued the attackers and recovered several head of cattle by Sunday morning.”

Radio Miraya further quoted him as saying that “the attackers came from Unity State and was the same group that staged two similar attacks in the last four weeks.”
