WAU – South Sudan’s University of Bahr el Ghazal will reopen next week, after many months of closure imposed by the outbreak of the deadly novel coronavirus pandemic, according to a statement extended to Sudans Post.

In the statement issued on Monday, the University Administration said lectures will resume in the University’s main campuses on October 12, with serious measures in place to combat spread of coronavirus.

“University of Bahr El Ghazal Administration is hereby informing its Student that, the 2nd semester face to face lectures for Academic year 2019/2020 will start on the 12th October 2020,” the statement reads in part.

“Note that Corona Virus (COVID-19) protective measures such as Hand washing, wearing face mask, social distancing is compulsory and sharing of object shall be prohibited during lectures,” it further added.

Last week, South Sudan government decided to reopen schools and Universities after several months of closure due to the March outbreak of coronavirus pandemic.
