JUBA – South Sudan’s English daily news website, Sudans Post, that was established less than two years ago has been ranked by American web traffic analysis company, Alexa Internet Inc., as the second most visited news website in the country just after Sudan Tribune which is the most visited news website as of January 2021 in the country.
Overall, Sudans Post comes in the third place with South Sudan NGO Forum occupying the first in the list pushing Sudan Tribune to second in the list. According to editorial figures provided by Sudans Post’s SEO department, the website, as of February 6, 2020, has been viewed 1.8 million times and visited more than 1 million times.
“Since the launch of the Sudans Post website, we thought we did what it take to come on the first in the ranking both on Google and the Alexa ranks,” Sudans Post editor-in-chief Tor Madira Machier said. “But we also appreciate the outcome of our work and we will make sure that we reach the target which we didn’t reach in 2020 by the end of the first half of 2020.”
In the list, Radio Tamazuj, Eye Radio, Nyamilepedia, South Sudan Herald, Gurtong, Hot in Juba and Paanluel Wel are ranked 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th respectively. Sudans Post is also ranked at 615,195 in global internet traffic and engagement over the past 90 days by the Alexa, compared to the list above.
