Vice President Nyandeng discharged from hospital after surgery

South Sudan Vice President for Gender and Youth Cluster, Rebecca Nyandeng de Mabior has been discharged from hospital after bypass surgery in Dubai.

JUBA – South Sudan Vice President for Gender and Youth Cluster, Rebecca Nyandeng de Mabior has been discharged from hospital after bypass surgery in Dubai.

Nyandeng underwent long-term goiter disease thyroid surgery on Monday at a hospital in Dubai.

Dr. John Garang’s widow was discharged on Thursday from the hospital after spending four days under care in Dubai of United Arab Emirates.

“Following an extensive surgery to remove a large goiter, Vice President, H.E. Rebecca Nyandend De Mabior, was released from the hospital and is making good progress in her recovery,” said a statement on her official Facebook page.

It said her health has improved and that the doctors are constantly monitoring her condition and have advised him to take a rest.

Her office thanked friends and family for their prayers, well wishes, and words of encouragement to the Vice President.

“Doctors recommend that she takes a lot of rest to ensure a full recovery, but she is back on her feet and feeling stronger by the day. We thank all our friends, family, and colleagues for their good wishes and words of prayers,” it said.
