VP Hussein Abdelbaggi travels to New York for UN General Assembly

South Sudan Vice-President for Service Cluster Hussein Abdelbaggi has this evening left the capital Juba heading to New York where he will represent South Sudan on behalf of President Salva Kiir Mayardit in the 77th United Nations General Assembly.

JUBA — South Sudan Vice-President for Service Cluster Hussein Abdelbaggi has this evening left the capital Juba heading to New York where he will represent South Sudan on behalf of President Salva Kiir Mayardit in the 77th United Nations General Assembly.

Hussein in a statement seen by Sudans Post was accompanied by ministers of presidential affairs, health, peace-building, general education, environment and forestry, deputy ministers of foreign affairs, finance and agriculture, and governors of Central Equatoria and Jonglei states.

“I have just left Juba with my accompanying delegation for New York to attend the 77th United Nations General Assembly discussing Political uncertainties, the Energy crises, Climate Change, COVID-19 Pandemic and transforming Education Summit under the theme ‘A watershed moment: transformative solutions to interlocking challenges,’” VP Hussein wrote in the statement.

“Between 22-23 September 2022, I’ll deliver my speech on behalf of the President H.E. Salva Kiir Mayardit regarding the climate change as well as the implementation of the revitalized peace agreement on the resolution of the conflict in South Sudan,” he added.

The top government official said “The accompanying delegation and I will involve in several sideline meetings with partners and friends of the land towards addressing humanitarian situation and economic crisis.”
