KUAJOK, JULY 6, 2023 (SUDANS POST) – The government of Warrap State has denied speculations of fistfights at the governor’s office in Kuajok over funds allocated for transportation of SPLM delegates from the state to Wau.

Yesterday, social media users circulated speculations that there was fistfight at the governor’s office in Kuajok over funds that were allocated to the SPLM party in Warrap state for transportation of its delegates to Western Bahr el Ghazal’s capital Wau.

Kiir was in Wau on Tuesday for a mega rally to launch campaign for his 2024 elections.

In a statement, the governor’s office denied the claims and said the person who was involved in the scuffle and the breaking of window at the Council of Minsters had been arrested and was not among  the delegates of the state party secretariat.

“There has never been any mob neither did Youth riot anywhere in Warrap State. The man who broke windows at the Council of Ministers, Secretariat General, today July 5th, 2023, at 8: 00m, and identified as Chol Ngor Makuei, from Twic County was not a delegate to the endorsement celebration for SPLM Chairman in Wau, Western Bhar el Ghazal State,” the governor’s office said.

“The culprit has been arrested and will be investigated to find the motives of his act, because it has no any relation with endorsement celebration of SPLM Chairman which was perfectly organized and celebrated joyfully by all SPLM Cadres in greater Bhar El Ghazal Region,” it added.

The statement said that “the culprit Chol Ngor Makuei, broke windows Office at 8:00 am in Kuajok, while all the SPLM Delegates were still in Wau waiting to bid farewell to SPLM Chairman on his way to Juba today July 5th 2023 from Wau Airport.”

“On the other hand, the allocated budget for endorsement celebration of SPLM Chairman nomination was managed and catered by the SPLM Committees constituted by SPLM Chairperson for Warrap State in accordance to the arrangement for celebration.

“Therefore, there is no any embezzled money because the Committees have detailed reports for the expenditure including arrangements done and liquidity. Based on this, the information posted on social media is misinformation and an absolute propaganda intended to defame SPLM and Governor’s Office in Warrap State,” it added.
