JUBA — The Governor of South Sudan’s Warrap State Aleu Ayieny Aleu has sacked his Trade Minister, Anthony Jong Deng Jong.
Aleu, in a decree issued on Monday, named Amiir Amet Kuol as Deng’s successor.
Kuol served as the deputy chairperson of the ruling party (SPLM) for Warrap state.
The governor, in a separate decree sacked the Gogrial East County commissioner, Ayom Bul and replaced him with Maluach Lueth.
The state Information minister, Riing Deng Ading described the new changes as “normal” and a prerogative of the state governor as enshrined in the constitution.
He justified the replacement of the ex-minister, saying it was made by the governor to fulfil the 35% representation of women in decision-making processes.
Both the former minister and ex-county commissioner welcomed the changes.
