BENTIU/PARIANG – The governor of South Sudan’s Unity state Joseph Nguen Manytuil Wijang and Chief Administrator of Abyei Special Administrative Area General Kuol Diem Kuol on Saturday were in the Ruweng Administrative Area’s capital Pariang ahead of the arrival of the body of former deputy governor of Unity state Mabek Lang in the afternoon from Juba.
General Mabek, a veteran politician who also served in different capacities in Unity state and as deputy governor of the defunct Ruweng state died in Juba on June 13, 2021 in Juba. He was 51.
His body was flown to his home town Pariang, one week after passing away due to unknown illness in the capital Juba, according to the information secretary of the Ruweng Administrative Area Miakol Makuac.
In a statement on Saturday evening, Unity state governor’s office wrote that the Manytuil along with visiting Abyei chief administrator Kuol Diem Kuol visited Pariang to pay their respected to the fallen politician.
“On Saturday 19th June 2021, Governor Manytuil and Chief for Abyei Administrative Area joined mourners at Yida Airstrip, Ruweng Administrative Area, to pay last respect for the late Mabek Lang Mading whose casket was flown from Juba to his home town in Parieng for burial,” Portsix Bakuony, the spokesman for unity state governor said in a statement.
“Governor Manytuil, Hon. Kuol Deim Kuol and the accompany delegation which comprised of State Advisors, Ministers from Governments of Unity State and Abyei Administrative Area conveyed their deepest sympathies to the family of late Mabek Lang in Ruweng Administrative Area, Parieng,” he added.
