JUBA – The Central Equatoria State Cabinet on Wednesday approved over 16 billion South Sudanese Pounds budget for the financial year 2022/2023.
The budget which was presented by the State Minister of Finance, Planning, and Investment, Wani Tom Sebit Michael is expected to be tabled before the State Revitalized Transitional Legislative Assembly for endorsement.
Speaking to the media after a state cabinet meeting on Wednesday, the Central Equatoria State’s Minister of Information and Communications, Andruga Mabe Severio said the fund will be generated from state revenue and national grants.
“This budget includes the revenues that will be generated from both State revenues and National grants,” Severio told reporters on Friday after a state cabinet meeting on Wednesday.
“The State Council of Ministers meetings Hall has today Wednesday ultimately passed a 16,069,361,867 billion South Sudanese Pounds budget for the fiscal year 2022/2023 to the State Legislative Assembly for further deliberations.”
The fiscal budget prioritized stabilization of peace and security and restoration of the economy as well as maintaining the city clean.
In February 2022, Central Equatoria State Cabinet approved over 5 billion South Sudanese Pounds budget for the financial year 2021/2022.
