JUBA – South Sudan’s de facto leader of South Sudan Opposition Alliance (SSOA) Gabriel Changson Chang has said that he will not participate in the formation of the transitional government of national unity unless a the number of states are determined.

Changson who is the deputy chair of NPTC and the Chairman of SSOA said earlier today that the formation of TGONU without any agreement on the number of states “will affect us (South Sudanese) later.”

“The People of South Sudan need a peace that will not threaten their coming back to their respective place. We want Both President Salva Kiir and Dr. Riek Machar to compromise and save time for the people of South Sudan to come back home.

“The Security arrangements is going well and the Training of the Unified forces as well, now the only thing that is hindering the process of the implementation is the Number of states and their boundaries.

“We have been consulted by the Vice President of South Africa Mr. Mabuza about the number of states and our position as the signatory to the Revitalized peace agreement we want number of states that is needed by the people of South Sudan where there’s no border conflicts or destabilization

“States that was recommended by IBC are good but Kiir rejected it and we have another option which is 23+ 1 or 24 states Kiir also rejected them.

“We call on the people of South Sudan to know that we want 10 States or 24 States because it’s good for the people of South Sudan and they have a clear border lines”.
