JUBA – The governor of South Sudan’s Unity State Joseph Manytuil Wijang has issued a gubernatorial decree from the nation’s capital Juba where he is being kept by the president suspending the SPLM-IO commissioner of Panyijiar.
“Governor Manytuil has issued gubernatorial decrees for the suspension of Gabriel Majiok Bol as Panyijiar County Commissioner,” the governor’s office said in a statement extended to Sudans Post on Tuesday evening.
The suspension comes days after senior officials of the ruling Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM-IG) faction accused the commissioner of deporting dozens of their members including the SPLM-IG chairperson in Panyijiar County.
The commissioner who is a member of the main armed opposition Sudan People’s Liberation Movement in Opposition (SPLM-IO) led by First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar Teny denied the claim and said the SPLM officials were distributing uniforms to schoolchildren which he said is against the law.
