General Burhan arrives in Juba for talk with Kiir

The President of the Sudan Transitional Sovereign Council Gen. Abdelfattah al Burhan has this morning arrived in South Sudan’s capital Juba to hold talk with President Salva Kiir Mayardit.

JUBA, JANUARY 12TH 2023 (SUDANS POST) – The President of the Sudan Transitional Sovereign Council Gen. Abdelfattah al Burhan has this morning arrived in South Sudan’s capital Juba to hold talk with President Salva Kiir Mayardit.

In a statement, Kiir’s office said Burhan was received by President Salva Kiir Mayardit at Juba Airport and the two are expected to discuss various issues such as bilateral ties, regional issues and problems facing the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) in particular.

“His Excellency President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Thursday received H.E Abdel Fattah al Burhan , Chairman of Sudan’s Sovereign Council upon arrival at Juba International Airport,” the president’s office said in a statement following Burhan’s arrival in Juba.

“The two leaders are expected to hold bilateral talks and discuss regional issues as well as touch on challenges facing Intergovernmental Authority on Development, IGAD,” the statement further added.
