JUBA – South Sudan’s holdout opposition alliance, the South Sudan Opposition Movement Alliance (SSOMA) faction led by General Thomas Cirilo Swaka has elected a new Secretary-General who will serve for a tenure of sick month, according to a statement extended to Sudans Post.
Emmanuel Ajawin who leads the National Democratic Movement Patriotic Front, a member of SSOMA, has been appointed as the new secretary-general and will serve for six month before the position is rotated to other parties making up the alliance.
“The South Sudan Opposition Movements Alliance (SSOMA) informs all members, supporters, the people of South Sudan and the International Community that the SSOMA-Leadership Council has appointed the Secretary General of SSOMA,” SSOMA said in the statement.
“The SSOMA Leadership Council has appointed Amb. Emmanuel Aban Ajawin, Esq., a member of the SSOMA Leadership Council, as the Secretary General of SSOMA effective from 13th March 2021,” it added.
“The position of the Secretary General of SSOMA is a six (6)-month tenure rotational among the members of the SSOMA Leadership Council.
“As Secretary General, Amb. Emmanuel Ajawin will be the Chief Administrator of the Alliance and answerable to the SSOMA Leadership Council.
“The SSOMA Leadership Council congratulates Amb. Emmanuel Ajawin and wish him success in his new assignment in the Alliance.”
