JUBA – South Sudan’s former military commander Gen. Stephen Buay Rolnyang has lashed at skeptics saying he will never join the rebellion which has been a subject of speculation since he was dismissed from the army.
Last year, the South Sudan People’s Defense Force (SSPDF) demoted Buay from Major General to private before to dismiss him from the army. He was accused of rebelling gains the “system.”
He denied all the charges.
“I went to Kampala on 13/1/2020, for a family visit, they said I defected and would not come back. I came back to Juba on 20/1/2020, they said I came back again. The question is where do they want me to be?” Gen. Buay asked in a social media post.
Buay said most of the politicians and military leaders who were conspiring against him came from a rebellion background and that was the reason why they believe everyone can also rebel against the government.
“Because they came from the rebellion background, they think that everybody should be like them, but forgetting that not everyone knows this business of rebellion where warlords accumulate a lot of wealth and ranks at the expense of innocent people,” he said.
“I have thousands and thousands of followers who can follow me if I decide today to make this business of rebellion, but on the other hand they don’t calculate that they would lose the very positions they are holding in the name of this community if I decide to go.
“Let us just wait for the time of elections to see who is who. Please stop pushing me to the wall.”
It’s unacceptable for the promotion of two political Mr. Tut and dieu, it’s business playing by Gen. Salva kiir for the upcoming election….
Riek Machar, promoted soldiers from captain to Lt.general. Kiir copies that from Riek.
