JUBA – President Salva Kiir Mayardit issued several presidential decrees on Thursday night, bringing about changes in key positions, including the appointment of a new director for the Directorate of Nationality, Civil Registry, Passport, and Immigration, as well as the replacement of the chairperson of the National Bureau of Statistics.

In an official decree broadcasted on the state-owned South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC), President Kiir appointed Maj. Gen. Simon Majur Pabek as the new Director General of the Directorate of Nationality, Civil Registry, Passport, and Immigration.

General Majur takes over from General Atem Marol, who was appointed as the Inspector General of Police by President Kiir in November of the previous year.

In a separate decree, President Kiir relieved Isaiah Chol Aruai from the position of chairperson of the National Bureau of Statistics, appointing Augustino Ting Mayai, the director of the Sudd Institute, as his replacement.

Furthermore, the President appointed Lengi Stephen Ogut as a non-executive member of the board of directors of the Bank of South Sudan, succeeding Nyel Gordon Lual, who has been appointed as the second deputy governor of the Bank of South Sudan and currently serves as an executive member of the board as per her appointment.

Additionally, Dr. Lual Acuek Deng was appointed as the chairperson of the board of directors of the Agriculture Bank, succeeding the late Prof. Marial Awow Yol.

an appointment of Dr. Augustino Ting Mayai will not go well for many reasons. most South Sudanese people don’t know who is Dr. Augustino Ting Mayai perhaps, he is from Tonj community within Warrap State and he is very vivid man and there is no question about that however, the guy is a nepotism man, he is very ignorant person, he loves practicing tribalism and favoritism against anyone who is dealing with.

Dr. Augustino Ting Mayai has set up himself as a supporter of the SPLM Detainees and some time he is against the SPLM I0 and not supporting the Ruling party SPLM either and he you would wondering which direction this man want to go? I thank President Salva Kiir Mayardit for appointed Dr. Baak Barnaba Chol and Dr. Alic Garang as well as the appointment of his Secretary general Peter Lam both but the appointment of Dr. Augustino Ting Mayai was not right, because our big problems in South Sudan are nepotism, favoritism, tribalism, alluding policy, hatred, discrimination, taking side to support your uncle and you name it. I think the President Salva Kiir Mayardit should revoke the appointment of Dr. Augustino Ting Mayai because of these things mentioned above.

Dr. Augustino Ting Mayai he was a managing director of South Sudan institute while teaching at the same. he gave scholarship to his own people of Apuk Padoc community and exclude the Students from Tonj leave about Warrap State or the South Sudan. our country has been going backward and this is because of such a people who see themselves as a tribe or clans and they have no vision for helping all people as we are become a nation. I think we need people who will United us instead of appointed people who will come and divided us and Dr. Augustino Ting Mayai is not going to do things like the President want but he is going to applied his own baggage. if the President Salva Kiir Mayardit wants someone from Tonj then, there are educated thousand of Tonjes people and most of them, they are very good and treated all South Sudanese people equal but the appointment of Dr. Augustino Ting Mayai is remain questionable.
