JUBA – South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit has issued a Republican Decree firing the First Undersecretary in the Ministry of Finance and Planning, John Deng Wal, just six months into his appointment.

The Presidential Decree readout on the state-owned South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC) did not cite reasons behind the removal of the senior South Sudan government finance ministry official.

In a separate decree, President Salva Kiir appointed sacked Ujang James Karlo as the Second Undersecretary in the ministry before appointing him as the new First Undersecretary in the Ministry of Finance and Planning.

In yet another Presidential Decree, the South Sudanese head of state appointed Angelo Deng Rehan who was the director of budgeting at the ministry until this evening, as the new second undersecretary in the ministry.

The South Sudanese president cited powers given to him under the country’s transitional constitution and the Revitalized Agreement on Resolution of Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan (R-ARCSS) signed in 2018.

Very interesting the way President Salva Kiir Mayardit handled this young nation. This is a leadership style we are regretful and will never be followed in years to come. Dr. Riek Machar Teny was demanding less States in South Sudan but there are no budgets for 10 States. These two leaders should have been told to steps down and let the South Sudanese people find caretakers leaders until general election.

I have no Idea how South Sudan nation will be established. Someone like Dr. John Garang has to rescue the new nation and the people in South Sudan otherwise, there is no future at all. There are resources which the citizens would have benefited from its unfortunately, lacking fundamental including leadership. I can’t predict the suffering of South Sudanese people, the confusion made by the leaders, there is no accountability, there is no system of government but dismissed and appointed that is all about 10 years and continues what else we csn says?
