JUBA — South Sudan’s rival SPLM-IO factions have begun initiative to try to resolve the issues which led to deadly clashes among themselves last week, First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar Teny’s office has said in a statement.

In a statement this evening, Acting Press Secretary in the Office of the First Vice President and SPLM-IO Director of Information and Public Relations Puok Both Baluang said General Johnson Olony, General Gatwech’s deputy, had called Machar and informed the SPLM-IO chairman of their desire to cease hostilities.
