OPINION – A bad peace is better than war has been a worldwide popular acclaimed. Dr. Riek Machar’s spokesman James Gatdet Dak telling General Gatwech he is wrong in his yesterday refusal in Radio Tamazuj interview to return to Juba for peace sake is misplaced.
Nobody can mean well for his people more than an eighty- year old man in the name of Simon Gatwech. Since he has no future before him rather than ours he wants to secure with his life.
Peace is not a stress relieving song, Mr. Gatdet. It is the best gift a country must have first before others follow dear to human well-being. Such as development through free universal education and healthcare, food security, roads, transport and communication network, etc.
Peace is living happily, loving and sharing all that are in common. It is respecting one another dignity and integrity as commonly referred to as dignified life.
It is justice when no one lives at the expense of another. Peace is not when some get what they want and call those who think otherwise peace spoilers.
It is Dr. Riek Machar who is peace spoiler as war only happened when he was kicked out of the ”feast table” South Sudan has become by his partner in ”looting and crimes”, General Salva Kiir Mayardit.
Now that he is returned to the big banquet, Machar is calling everyone still holding out pessimistically an agitator of war he has partly caused owing to his known greed for an oppressive power and ill-gotten wealth.
Even James Gatdet has got the gut of preaching peace when his colleagues he left behind in blue house are still there languishing.
He has gone to an extent of arrogating himself the Ambassadorial title of false peace devoid of reconciliation, forgiveness and healing.
A selfish man with low morals is defined by an attitude of not putting himself in other people’s painful shoes.
For where on earth peace has political prisoners? When and where people get starved to death in peacetime?
In nutshell, James Gatdet Dak is a corrigible traitor to long suffering South Sudanese people.
