This call comes after Troika countries abstained from a vote registering R-JMEC’s endorsement of the extension of the transitional period.
The Troika nations in a joined statement last week said they regretted government extension of transitional period without demonstrating how the roadmap will be different from previous years.
The US, Norway and UK say that the government has not conducted extensive consultations with citizens, civil society and other stakeholders of the agreement.
Speaking to reporters after regular cabinet meeting in Juba on Friday, information minister Michael Makuei Lueth called on US, UK, and Norway to back up the implementation of the roadmap.
“The government call upon the members of Troika which abstained from the meeting (of RJMEC) to come for the support of the agreement and to support the government and the people of South Sudan in the implementation of agreement,” Makuei told reporters on Friday.
Makuei called on the parties to stand firm in support of the roadmap to move the country out of transitional period.
“The government also calls upon the parties, those who supported the roadmap to continue to stand with the government and the people of South Sudan in the implementation of the outstanding parts of the agreement,” Makuei said.
