TWIC – A senior representative working for a national NGO in Warrap State has expressed concerns after two people died of starvation in Pan-nyom Payam of Twic county.

Paul Lueth Kat, a Project Coordinator for The Transformation of the World-in-Christ, told Sudans Post yesterday that they provided 20 sacks of sorghum in response to the already dire situation.

He said the majority of those affected were returnees from neighboring Sudan.

According to Lueth, a child was among those who perished from starvation.

“As an organization, when we heard about the critical situation that people at Pan-nyok were facing, we provided what we had at hand. We felt sympathetic and grieved for the conditions they are facing,” he said.

Lueth urged local authorities and host community to provide further assistance.

Warrap State authorities previously dismissed reports of death through starvation.

When you are reporting be consist of geographical area which you are reporting. Pan-nyom is not a Twic county.
