JUBA, JUNE 9, 2023 (SUDANS POST) – South Sudan’s national police authorities on Friday said unknown assailants on Wednesday attacked and killed the commissioner of Pochalla County of Greater Pibor administrative Area.

Police spokesman Maj. Gen. Daniel Justin told Sudans Post that Commissioner Ojulu Ochalla was killed on Wednesday afternoon after he visited Lango Payam of Pochalla County to restore calm after a national security officer was killed there a day earlier.

“On Tuesday, which was the 6 of June 2023, there was a murder of a national security officer in a place called Lango Payam in Pochalla County and when the commissioner decided to go there on Wednesday in order to restore calm, he was killed by a group of gunmen,” he said.

“This group of gunmen is still unknown, and no one has been arrested, but there is investigation from the government now to determine what happened leading to the killing of the national security officer and the commissioner and who did the crime,” he added.
