Jieng Council of Elders versus the Nuer Council of Elders

by Sudans Post

By Kalany Tekjiek Nyany

File: Nuer Council of Elders signing an agreement with Jieng Council of Elders in Kenya few years ago

OPINION – The Jieng Council of Elders (JCE) know how to protect their interests while Nuer Council of Elders (NCE) know how destroy their interests. JCE know how to keep their Jieng’s vision of corruption, oppressive regime and ruthlessness whereas NCE know how to abandon what they set up as a resistance in the name of one man’s correctible mistakes.

JCE guide Kiir to their advantage (Dinka hegemony) where as NCE dismantle theirs and ask JCE for accommodation and are asked in return to sing insulting songs toward Nuer community for confirmatory measures.

JCE laugh at the NCE behind curtain and NCE move with head down in shame and disgusting. JCE are respected by Jieng community for protecting their interests whereas NCE are insulted by Nuer community for being traitorous elders.

JCE buy NCE loyalty with a string attached to drive them to Dinkas’ hegemony. JCE settle administrative disputes amongst the Dinka elites citing Nuer as their common enemy no matter how big their internal problem is.

For their part, the Nuer quarrel over their administrative disputes and run away from  settling them amicably and opt to declare laughable defections to JCE’s house where they live under threats, monitor and ask to insult their hailing community.
