“President Kiir left Juba this morning for Addis Ababa, on a one day working visit to Ethiopia for bilateral talks with his Ethiopian counterpart Dr. Abiy Ahmed,” Kiir’s office said in a statement seen by Sudans Post following the president’s departure.
The statement said meeting between the two leaders “aims at strengthening the long-standing relations between the two countries.”
South Sudan presidential affairs minister Barnaba Marial Benjamin said, “the two leaders will discuss diplomatic relations, economic cooperation and infrastructure development among others.”
Kiir was seen off at Juba International Airport by First Vice President Riek Machar and was accompanied by senior government officials.
President Salva Kiir was off to check his counter part Dr. Abi Ahmed of Ethiopia and the current Prime Minister.
It was recalled some weeks back that South Sudan had fall into crisis with Uganda, the only nearing country to South Sudan interm of trade relation. South Sudanese government reported and accused Uganda to be transported items which their period expired and not good for consumption any more.
The standoff, was heard everywhere in the world reported media between Uganda and South Sudan. Right now, that scenario had evicted president Salva to seek upperhand from his friend Dr. Abii and on how to make tied among two countries in concern to trade relation.
In recent move, UN head mission in South Sudan had warned on the activities Sudanese devastated war that automatically will also affect the only revenue which South Sudan`s government survives and that is the oil. It was heard from the tongue of Haysom that Salva Kiir has to do possible means of resolving the issue of Sudan before time escalates.
It might be one of the reason to led Salva Kiir running to Ethiopia and asked help from Abii Ahmed to convince IGAD countries as they change their mind from William Ruto of Kenya. You all know that Sudan had insist in Salva Kiir to be the one leading the negotiation table, a point that creates doubts from other commentators as to whether Hamadti will accept the offer to Salva Kiir. To me, it is already a kind of tension which will also put president Salva in nightmare and I requested him to undermine the offer from Khartoum, due to the fact that Khartoum has I’ll intention behind the offer.
Over 19000 refugees from Sudan have recently move to South Sudan and even others crossed to Uganda, seeking for good life and refugee status. Uganda right now is inhabited by Sudanese from Khartoum and others are setting their businesses, because they have hope that Sudan problem will be resolved by the IGAD countries.
