NAIROBI – A South Sudanese diplomat in the neighboring Kenya has died after involvement in a fatal car accident on Friday, according to South Sudan ambassador to the East African country.

Elizabeth Dicho, the education attaché at the South Sudan embassy succumbed to injuries after being knocked down by a truck in Nairobi along Valley Road on Friday evening.

“Her car had been knocked from behind. She got out to check the damage caused and that was when another car came from behind, and hit her on the left leg,” Chol Ajong, the South Sudanese ambassador to Kenya, said, according to Eye Radio.

“She stayed at the hospital for more than eight hours with no medical attention. Because of the shock, the kidneys shut down and the wound got infection, after it was exposed for long hours,” he added.
